Meat Porn
After reading Carol J. Adams', The Sexual Politics of Meat, my work shifted. I could see how the female and female flesh, both human and non human animal, is marginalized in our society and through objectification, becomes a commodity for consumption.
The meat and food industries objectify women by using their body parts to sell meat products. After all, Hooters is not a vegan restaurant chain.
In this series, fragments of human and non human body parts are combined/linked just as speciism and sexism are linked oppressions.
